Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone whoMatthew ch. 10 vv. 40 –42
welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.
One of the most important things we should be doing as Christians is welcoming others into our faith. In the Draycote Benefice we pride ourselves on being a welcoming community. When we are welcoming to others, we are welcoming Christ into our lives. This speaks of the whole ministry of hospitality, which we as Christians need to practice.
To be welcoming means that we should be completely open to a visitor – when we receive a visitor in our homes – we try to make a special effort – to make them feel valued. We aim to do this for all the guests coming into our churches – for couples coming about their marriage, for babies being baptised. Even if you are not a regular church attender, we will be happy to meet you to discuss a wedding or baptism.
