Alleluia he is risen!

What a strange Easter it is for us all this year.  With none of our usual collective worship leading us through Holy Week to Easter Sunday, we face the journey to the cross alone or only with those we live with or meet online.

So many disadvantages, but there are some positives.  We have the chance to reflect more deeply, to pray more, to read the readings of the day more than once and consider them more carefully and to care for others who ill, alone or anxious.  And there is plenty of choice of worship, reflection and prayer available online for you to choose those that suit you.

Rev. David Shaw has been writing his homily each Sunday since our churches closed.

You can read them here.

Karen will be leading Morning prayer at 9.00 am  and Evening prayer at 9.00 pm every day from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday. Let her know if you wish to join and she will send you a link.

Lord Jesus Christ
You taught us to love our neighbour and to care
for those in need as if we were caring for you.
In this time of anxiety, give us strength to comfort the fearful
to tend the sick and to assure the isolated of our love and of your love,
For your name’s sake.  AMEN

Do let us know those you have found most useful and contact your church warden if you need help.
